Based out of Lebanon Indiana, we are a small flower farm that has a passion for all things agriculture and flowers! Our passions derived from our involvement in the dairy industry and our small hobby farm located in the outskirts of Lebanon. We hope that our blooms can bring a smile to the faces of those they encounter and that we spread the light of the Lord with the bright and beautiful products of His creation.
Wild Carrot, commonly known as Queen Anne’s Lace has always been a family favorite… Weed that is… Though is may appear like a flower, it is actually a weed that is native to Indiana and can easily be found in ditches and along field and road sides across the Midwest. Though it is a weed, our family has always had a particular liking for it. Throughout the summers over the years, it is not uncommon to find vases of well…
weeds in our house. There was always something special about that white one with the purple center. Even when kids were little, driving down the road “Hey look! Its Wild Carrot” was a common phrase heard from the backseat. Most farmers would probably try to kill it, but for some reason, we never wanted to. As we were thinking of names for our small flower business, we couldn’t seem to like any
names unless they had ‘Wild Carrot’ or ‘Queen Anne’s Lace’ in the title. We ended up landing on one of the first names we considered, and it couldn’t be a better fit! So when you get your bouquets, be sure to keep an eye out for that special weed we hold so dear to our hearts, we hope you enjoy it as much as us.
We see Christ as the head and center of it all. Our mission is to spread the word of God to everyone we come in contact with as we grow our business. We truly would be nowhere without the Lord, He blessed His creation with such beauty that we cannot help but share! Our flowers are a direct product of Gods mighty work, and our goal is to share it with as many as possible. Just like flowers need light, nutrients, and water, so do all of our souls. With Christ, He gives us everything we need for life and godliness. He is the light of the world, the bread of life, the living water, our sustainer, and our victory. Without Him, we are nothing. John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
As we do business and grow and steward these gifts He has blessed us with, we give all the praise and glory back to Him and credit Him for every success. He has delt graciously and mercifully with us, and we are so excited to share what He has given us. Thank you for following along. – Wild Carrot Farmstead Team
“To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” – 1 Timothy 1:7
Our agriculture roots can be traced back to northwest Pennsylvania on the dairy farm where Jared grew up working in the barn and in the fields. He met Leah at a college in Ohio and ended up back in her hometown in central Indiana after they were married. Jared is currently and agronomist at ABG Ag Services where he continues in his passion for the agriculture industry.
Leah has spent her time at home raising their four kids (Jackson, Kate, Meg, and Claire) and recently welcomed daughter-in-law (Alexis) into the mix. She has always enjoyed the thought of farm steading and loves to grow a vegetable garden each year. Their love for agriculture, animals, and plants quickly bled over into the lives of all of their children, and continues to grow to this day.
Jackson and Alexis (Lex) met at Purdue University where they graduated with degrees in agronomy, got married, and are currently pursuing their masters degrees in weed science and entomology at North Carolina State University. Kate is studying agronomy as Purdue University as well, with minors in horticulture, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship, with hopes to grow a business. Meg and Claire are still in grade school, yet are very involved in 4-H and love to help out on the farm with animals, and in the gardens.
As our family continues to grow, so do our ambitions, and we are blessed to have help from every single family member. We share this information because each one has played a significant role in getting this business off of the ground, even the ones that live far away. We have an awesome opportunity to be apart of something we all love, and look forward to learning more while doing what we love together.
